About Me: Born in Sweden, Hans moved to Canada in 1976 after finishing his agricultural education and then spent a season as an exchange student near N. Battleford, Sask. In 1979, Hans met his wife on her farm just outside of Red Deer, Alberta. There they farmed, raising cattle and horses until 1981 when a portion of the farm was sold to local developers. By coincidence, they discovered the Gulf Islands and purchased a small farm on Gabriola Island. Hans developed an interest in real estate and for the next 9 years, while living on Gabriola, he also proceeded with subdivisions of the remainder of the Alberta holding and other Gabriola and Nanaimo properties that they had purchased. In 1987 Hans also earned his Alberta real estate license, purchased 55 acres waterfront on Gabriola and by 1990 had subdivided said land, and got his BC real estate license. Hans quickly became a very successful Realtor and has enjoyed his life as a Realtor representing REMAX of Nanaimo on Gabriola and in Nanaimo for the better part of 12 years.
